Why Are My Ads Getting Clicks but No Enquiries?
A click shows interest, but it does not explain why someone left. Find the weak point between your ad, landing page and enquiry process before increasing spend.
Your ads are getting clicks, but your inbox is quiet. It is tempting to change the audience, redesign every ad or increase the budget. First, find out where the journey stops.
Clicks without enquiries usually call for a check of measurement, traffic relevance, the offer and the contact process. A campaign can attract attention without giving the right customer enough reason, confidence or opportunity to get in touch.
The sequence below is a practical diagnostic approach. It helps you decide what to investigate before paying for more visits.
1. Check whether enquiries are missing or simply unrecorded
Compare the advertising report with actual form submissions, phone enquiries and new WhatsApp conversations. If customers contacted you but the report shows zero, investigate measurement before concluding that the campaign failed.
Also check the opposite problem. A report may count a contact-button click as a conversion even when the visitor never sends a message. Keep these stages separate:
- Contact click: someone opens a form, telephone link or WhatsApp.
- Enquiry: a real message, submitted request or connected conversation arrives.
- Qualified enquiry: the person needs something you provide and fits your service area and basic requirements.
- Customer: the enquiry becomes a confirmed purchase or engagement.
Google's conversion measurement guidance explains that advertisers define the valuable actions they want to measure. Check which action your report actually represents.
Use the actual ad destination for a test submission. Confirm that the request reaches the correct inbox and that the measurement records a successful submission, rather than any click on the submit button. Exclude your test enquiry when reviewing lead quality.
2. Check whether the clicks come from potential customers
For Google Search, read the actual searches
Your chosen keywords and the searches that trigger ads are not always identical. Google's search terms report helps you examine those searches, although some low-volume queries are omitted for privacy.
A hypothetical office-cleaning company might attract people looking for cleaning jobs, domestic cleaning or free checklists. Those visits have different intent from a business requesting a commercial cleaning quote.
Review irrelevant themes and refine targeting or exclusions carefully. Do not exclude a useful term just because one visitor failed to enquire.
Check geography and language
If you serve Ras Al Khaimah only, enquiries from areas you cannot cover are not useful growth. Check the campaign's geographic settings and reported locations, rather than assuming a city selection filters every visitor perfectly.
Google's location options can include people interested in a place as well as people present there. Choose the setting that suits your business: an overseas traveller booking a UAE experience may be relevant, while an overseas visitor seeking an immediate local repair may not be.
For social campaigns, review whether the message attracts the intended buyer. Broad curiosity, an ambiguous discount or a striking image can earn clicks without explaining who the offer suits. Keep the ad, destination and reply language consistent.
3. Make the landing page answer the ad's promise
Read the ad and the first screen of the destination together. Would a new visitor immediately recognise the same service, offer and next step?
An ad promoting one service should not leave people searching a general homepage to find it. The destination should answer:
- What exactly can I buy or request?
- Is this suitable for my situation and location?
- What does the service include, and what affects the price?
- Why should I trust this business?
- What happens after I contact you?
Where a fixed price is inappropriate, explain what information is needed for a quote. Use genuine work samples, accurate business details and relevant testimonials you have permission to share. Avoid unsupported promises.
For example, a fit-out quote request might ask for the property type, location and approximate size. Explaining those requirements is more helpful than a vague “Get started” button.
4. Complete the enquiry process on a phone
Do not stop at checking that the page opens. Complete the journey using the mobile browser your visitors are likely to use.
- Does the main content appear promptly on a normal mobile connection?
- Do pop-ups, sticky buttons or cookie controls cover the form?
- Can visitors enter a UAE phone number without an unexplained error?
- Does the WhatsApp link open the correct business number?
- Does a successful submission show a clear confirmation?
- Does the receiving team know where new enquiries arrive?
Ask only for information needed at this stage. A detailed questionnaire may be justified for a complex project, but explain why it is needed. Removing every qualifying question can increase submissions while making the enquiries less useful.
If genuine enquiries arrive but become no sales, review response times, quotations and follow-up separately. That is a different problem from visitors never contacting you.
5. Fix the clearest failure before changing everything
Use the evidence to choose the next action:
- Real enquiries, no reported conversions: investigate tracking.
- Irrelevant searches or locations: review targeting and the ad message.
- Relevant visits, unclear offer: improve the destination's explanation and proof.
- People attempt contact but cannot finish: repair the form or contact route.
- Suitable enquiries, few customers: review the sales process and offer.
Keep a short change log with the date, problem, adjustment and result to watch. Where traffic allows, test one major hypothesis at a time. Fix obvious technical failures immediately; they do not need an experiment.
A handful of visits cannot establish a reliable conversion rate. Review a meaningful period for your traffic volume and buying cycle, but do not keep paying for a visibly broken journey while waiting for more data.
Common questions
Should I increase the budget if I have clicks but no leads?
Only after checking the basics. More spend can produce more visits to the same weak or broken journey. First establish whether the traffic is relevant, contact works and measurement is accurate.
Does a high click-through rate mean the ad is successful?
It shows that people respond to the ad. It does not establish lead quality or profitability. Read it alongside genuine enquiries, customers and acquisition costs.
Do I need a new landing page?
Not automatically. An existing page may need clearer copy or a repaired form. A dedicated page becomes useful when the campaign's offer is difficult to find or explain within the current page.
Why do WhatsApp clicks exceed messages?
Opening WhatsApp does not send a message. Some visitors stop there or return later. Report button clicks and actual conversations separately wherever your measurement permits.
Make the next improvement specific
Start with the weakest verified step. Blink's growth packages cover defined marketing services, while landing page services address a focused web journey. Tracking, development and other requirements must match the agreed scope.
Tell us what your campaign is promoting, where clicks go and what your team currently receives. That gives us a useful starting point for discussing the work needed.
